Comtec Europe approached Comgem given our software development team's expertise in the latest Microsoft .Net technologies.
Objectives
The software development team were asked to help out in the development of a new travel agency solution that needed to be rolled out to more than 13,000 travel agency users across the UK, covering many of the major high street players including Thomas Cook and Thomsons.
Over a period of eight weeks our software development team successfully delivered the latest Travel Agency software solution.
Implementation
Our software development team took care of the entire project, including:
- Project planning to ensure the project was delivered within the timeframe specified
- Researching the approaches that would be provide the best performance and scalability
- Development of the solution
- Creation of a testing plan and management of the testing of the project, to ensure the solution met the customers requirements
Key Issues
The major issue facing the software development team was simply the large number of simultaneous users. As a result the software development team created a solution that was very scalable and performed well irrespective of the number of people using the system at once.
The other issue was collecting data from multiple datasources, whether it was hotel or flight availability. Once again the software development team successfully managed this information and conveyed it in a userfriendly user interface.
Results Delivered
After pulling out all of the stops, our software development team successfully implemented the project within the required timescale, and the client was so happy, they wanted us to work with them in the execution of the next phase. So a resounding success all around.
