about us | examples | PHS Greenleaf Website design & development: PHS Greenleaf
Introduction
We were approached by PHS Greenleaf implementation of a new content managed website that would effectively convey the lifestyle aspirations of the brand.
Situation
Greenleaf's simplistic website failed to capture the essence of the brand and appeal to its target marketing in terms of its luxury replica plant offerings. Customer feedback towards the site was negative in terms of usability and ease of use of locating the required information.
In addition to its lack of appeal the website was incredibly difficult for non technical staff to update. This meant that much of the information presented on the website was out of date, and failed to provide sufficient information about the variety of homes and their individual features.
Given the inherent failures in their website, the company had become concerned that their website was failing the business, and decided that it was time to invest in a revolutionary revamp.
Solution
Following a meeting and demonstration from Comgem, Greenleaf were impressed not only with our award winning design service but also content management system knowledge and implementation service.
Implementation
Given the range of products the main issue was how we conveyed all of this one information within a few clicks from the homepage. As part of the navigation we segmented the company's key offerings into three areas.
As the company wanted to convey the lifestyle elements of the brand we decided to implement simple flash animations to support the content and brand identity, and improved the interactivity of the website with a dynamic plant builder, where end users can select the plant and most appropriate pot to their needs. This in itself created another issue in terms of ensuring quick loading speeds as the animation needed to hold more than 200 images at one time. However this wasn't a problem for our flash developers who generated the images on the fly.
In addition to the custom flash development, Greenleaf wanted the ability to update all aspects of their website, so the site was also integrated into the content management system.
Results
The end result has been the creation of a website that has effectively captured the brands essence and has built upon the values developed offline.
